ttz was established in 1987 and operates in the field of technology transfer and applied R&D through six business-oriented institutes; Environmental Institute, Institute of Food Technology and Bio-process Engineering, Institute of Health Technology, Institute of Organisation and Software, Institute of Bioinformatics and the Institute of Energy and Process Engineering. Overall, ttz has 85 highly skilled academic employees (scientists and engineers) and an annual turnover of 10 million Euro. Since its foundation, ttz has successfully co-operated with SMEs at regional, national and EU level in more than 2.500 R&D projects, including projects from FP5, FP6 and the current FP7.
ttz has conducted the research and completed several projects on different municipal and industrial types of fertilization and irrigation using different systems: sprinkler systems, drip systems, conventional mineral fertilizer, organic fertilizer, membrane technology, etc. For more than 15 years ttz is working for farmers and farmer organisation offering technological solutions, water and soil analysis and applied research activities. The work has comprised from the specification and CAD design to the operation and optimisation on-site of the developed systems. ttz employs experts in land and soil management, energy efficiency and process engineering, and has been responsible for the design and implementation of several fertigation systems in the Lower Weser region.
